Wetland Creation Grant Scheme (WCGS)

The Evenlode Catchment Partnership has set up a scheme to help farmers, landowners and communities within the Evenlode catchment to create wetland habitat on their holdings to improve water quality, create habitat for wildlife, reduce flood risks and provide opportunities for education and recreation.

The WCGS is now open for applications. If you are interested in applying, please read the Scheme Handbook for more information and get in touch.

If you would like to apply for the WCGS, the first step is to arrange an initial consultation with Ann Berkeley (Scheme Manager) and Tom Hall (your local Catchment Advisor). Please email:

If you have a project in mind that is more focused towards river restoration, or would like to discuss other water-related matters on your land, please email Ann.

This round of the WCGS is funded by the Water Restoration Fund, a UK government initiative administered by the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) on behalf of the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The ECP is one of 51 projects across England to have received funding from the Water Restoration Fund.
