Our Vision

Striving to achieve ‘good ecological status’ – a holistic approach to river restoration…

At the Evenlode Catchment Partnership (ECP), we are a dynamic collaboration of over 20 organisations and countless individuals, united by a shared commitment to improving the water environments within the Evenlode catchment. By combining local knowledge, scientific expertise, and on-the-ground action, we work to deliver effective, long-lasting improvements that benefit both people and nature.

What We Do

Since our establishment in 2014, we have been dedicated to enhancing water quality, improving flood management, enriching biodiversity, and fostering greater community engagement with our rivers. Our projects focus on addressing key environmental challenges like raw sewage spills and pollution, which severely impact local biodiversity.

Supported by our partners, our work includes innovative approaches to river restoration, such as the creation of wetlands, ponds, and fish passages, alongside natural flood management efforts like the installation of leaky woody dams and storage bunds. These interventions not only restore natural habitats but also reduce flood risks, benefiting local communities.

Award Winning

The ECP’s work has gained recognition for its impact, with coverage in outlets such as New Scientist, showcasing our efforts as a model for effective river restoration. Together, we are making a lasting difference to the health of the Evenlode’s rivers and the communities that depend on them.
