Riverfly Surveyor Training

Do you want to help monitor the health of our rivers?

Become a citizen scientist and carry out monthly riverfly surveys to help us track trends and spot problems!

Riverfly surveying is important for monitoring water quality and can trigger the EA to test areas that look to have a significant decline in invertebrates. It’s a great way to get involved in citizen science and take action for our rivers. We would love to have more people across the Evenlode catchment qualified to do this type of sampling and will support you along the way.

Book your place for Riverfly Surveyor Training on Monday 4th August 2025 from 9.30am to 4pm! Learn how to monitor riverfly from an experienced professional surveyor. An indoor learning session will be followed by an outdoor practical session in the river. All surveying equipment provided for the training. Please bring wellies (or waders if you have them) and a packed lunch.
