We’re taking part in the Big Give’s Green Match Fund
The Evenlode Catchment Partnership (ECP) is taking part in the Big Give’s Green Match Fund from 22nd-29th April 2025. This is a 7-day online match funding campaign and we are aiming to raise £20k. We already have £10k pledged in match funding, but we will only receive this if we can raise another £10k while the Big Give is live!
You’ll be able to donate to the ECP through Wild Oxfordshire’s campaign page while the Big Give’s Green Match Fund is live.
Our work
For the last 10 years Wild Oxfordshire has hosted the ECP. During this time it has brought in over £5 million in funding for the Evenlode catchment. Our work has ranged from developing a citizen science network to monitor water quality, to innovative school sessions introducing all ages to river field work. We have worked to improve water quality and floodplain connectivity, enhance biodiversity, reduce flood risk and increase resilience to climate change. In addition to groundbreaking river restoration and natural flood management, we have engaged with communities to foster a sense of understanding and care for the river environment.
Our ambition is to return the Evenlode to good ecological status by creating a thriving, sustainable water environment that benefits both wildlife and local communities.
Why we are fundraising
Much of the ECP’s incredible work has been funded by Thames Water. However, they have failed to deliver the promised upgrades to their sewage treatment works. Due to the serious harm from sewage pollution to our rivers and wider catchment, the ECP has made the moral decision not to accept any more funding from Thames Water beyond March 2025. To continue our important work and maintain the momentum of our ambitious programme we are seeking new funding going forward.
